Official classes
- BlancoUnaged or briefly rested.
- Joven / OroBlanco with added colouring or a blend of blanco and aged tequilas.
- ReposadoAged 2–12 months in oak.
- AñejoAged 1–3 years in oak (≤600 L).
- Extra AñejoAged over 3 years in oak (≤600 L).
Market descriptors
Terms such as Cristalino describe processing (activated-carbon filtration of an aged tequila) rather than a distinct regulatory class. Agave Atlas presents them as market descriptors and does not reclassify them as official classes.
