Privacy Policy
Effective July 20, 2026. This policy explains what information Agave Atlas collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Overview
Agave Atlas ("Agave Atlas," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent informational platform focused on tequila, mezcal, and the broader agave-spirit industry. This Privacy Policy describes the categories of information we collect through our website and related services (the "Service"), how we use that information, and the choices you have.
By using the Service you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information you provide
When you create an account, sign in, submit a review or rating, save a collection or favorite, report an availability update, or contact us, you may provide information such as your name or display name, email address, password credentials, profile details, and the content of your submissions or messages.
Authentication and account management
We use a hosted authentication service to create and manage accounts, verify email addresses, and maintain your sign-in session. This includes information required to authenticate you securely, such as identifiers, tokens, and timestamps of key account events.
Information collected automatically
When you access the Service, our infrastructure and hosting providers automatically record certain technical information, including browser type and version, device and operating system information, language settings, IP address, referring and exit pages, request and error logs, timestamps, and general usage activity within the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and our authentication provider use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Service — for example, to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and protect against abuse. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features, including sign-in.

Service providers
We rely on a limited set of third-party service providers that process information on our behalf so that the Service can function. These providers include hosting and content delivery, database and storage, authentication, email delivery for transactional messages, mapping and geocoding services used to power discovery features, and error monitoring and security tooling. These providers are bound to use information only to perform services for us.
No sale of personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your personal information to advertisers.
Disclosure of information
We may disclose information:
- To comply with applicable law, legal process, or lawful government requests;
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Agave Atlas, our users, or the public, including to prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to standard confidentiality protections.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and its purpose. Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No system, however, can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise that information will be free from unauthorized access.
