Fortaleza Reposado – Winter Blend 2022 is the fourth annual release in Fortaleza’s acclaimed Winter Blend series, produced at Tequila Los Abuelos (NOM 1493) in Tequila, Jalisco. Crafted from mature Blue Weber agave grown in the Tequila Valley (Los Valles), this limited-edition expression combines Fortaleza’s traditional production methods with an innovative multi-barrel maturation program unique to the 2022 release. The tequila is produced using traditional stone and brick ovens, tahona extraction, open-air fermentation in wooden tanks (pipones), and double distillation in copper pot stills using deep well water. Carefully selected reposado batches are matured in a combination of American white oak bourbon barrels, French oak barrels, Hungarian oak barrels, and sherry casks before being blended and rested in stainless steel to achieve balance and consistency. Bottled at 43.5% ABV (87 proof) and produced without additives, Winter Blend 2022 offers a layered expression that balances cooked agave with notes of vanilla, dried fruit, baking spice, toasted oak, and subtle sweetness while remaining true to Fortaleza’s traditional character.
